Caroline & Piotr Love Story

I met Piotr on Tinder. After a few days of chatting, he asked me out, but my mom was visiting, so I let him know I'd be in touch once she left. A month later, I reached back out. He admitted he thought the "mom thing" was just an excuse, but we decided to give it a shot anyway. Our first date at a bar was amazing, and things progressed quickly from there. Within a month, we were officially dating.

Nine months into our relationship, I invited him to Brazil to meet my family. It was a special trip—my mom doesn't speak English and he doesn't speak Portuguese, so there was definitely some fun communication happening! He was so thoughtful and respectful. He even asked my mom for her blessing and worked with her to plan the most incredible proposal at one of my favorite spots in my hometown.

After almost two years together, we got married at that same meaningful location. It was the most magical day of my life, surrounded by our loved ones from both Canada and Brazil.

We discovered Chic Bridals at a wedding fair, and I'm so grateful we did. Walking in, I had two distinct visions for my dress: either a glamorous, heavily embroidered gown with lots of sparkle, or something more modern and minimalist with a sleek silhouette and a leg slit. The entire team was so kind and welcoming to me and my friends. I was video calling my mom and friends throughout the process to get their input, and the staff never rushed me—they were patient and supportive every step of the way. They listened carefully to what I wanted and suggested dresses that were absolutely spot-on.

The moment I saw myself as a bride, I knew I'd found the one. I have photos from that moment, and you can literally see my face light up when I put it on. I started crying—it was so emotional and special. That dress was absolutely perfect, and it made my wedding day even more magical than I could have imagined. The experience was so wonderful that I returned a week later with one of my best friends, and she found her dream dress too!
